The ’70s influence has been pretty huge this A/W season and is coming strong into the S/S season. From fashion to home interior, this decade is practically everywhere.

I’m not normally inspired by this decade since it’s far from my fashion taste. But it hasn’t stopped me from attempting to try the trend. Suede a-line skirts are a popular item and come in variety of styles to suite your taste. For me, that was this navy faux suede skirt with square pockets on the front from Old Navy. I don’t normally wear mini skirts so I had to try it on two different times to convince myself that it belonged in my wardrobe.

To my surprise, it has become one of my favorite skirts in my closet. It goes well with many of the tops, coats and accessories in my closet. For this look, I was inspired by the ’70s. So I paired the skirt with a pussybow blouse and threw on my trusty sherpa jacket. I completed the look with another big trend, the lace up ballet flats. Two trends in one outfit!
